     Lomi noodles started in 1968 when the first panciteria or noodle eatery opened at Lipa City owned by the couple Natalia and Kim Eng. Until it spreaded by the different cities in Batangas with a varieties of twist and recipes.

       Lomi become the comfort food of all Batanganeous whether rainy or sunny season, it's not missing on their dining tables. That's why every September 23 in Lipa City, they celebrate the Lomi Festival with the help of the local government by organizing the Festival with the famous two competitions, which are the Lomi King and Queen, and Lomi Cook-off, aside from that they also held different kinds of games and street dance competition while Lipeños wear their colorful costume. When the festival started different people living in other cities in Batangas visit the Lipa, that's why some of the Lipeños set up the different tents just to showcase their own recipes and give free bowls to the people.

Lomi King and Queen Competition
    
    This competition is great especially when you can tolerate the hot soup of Lomi since it is a race to finish the bowl Lomi. The first woman and man to finish the bowl will be crowned as Lomi King and  Queen.

Lomi Cook-off

        The lomi houses located in Lipa City are the contestants, they will have a time limit to cook their own recipes and the final judgment is based on the taste and presentation of their bowl, the tastiest and great bowl presentation will be the winner.
